Flynn Spears 

Flynn Spears

Flynn Spears is an ASNT Fellow (class of 2003) and has been an ASNT member since 1975, starting in the NDI field of the United States Air Force. During this time as a member of the Pacific Northwest Section of ASNT, Spears has been directly involved in the promotion and activities on many levels of ASNT, both local and national. His experience as a past member of the board (two terms) and committee member in the Aerospace, Exhibitors, Governance, Laser Methods, and Military Outreach Committees has given Spears the opportunity to interface with many established and new incoming members.

 
srael Vasquez 

Israel Vasquez

Israel M. Vásquez is the owner of Vastek Consulting, a company specializing in Level III nondestructive testing consulting services. Vásquez has been involved in quality systems and nondestructive testing since 1972, beginning as an NDI Technician in the United States Air Force. He went on to work for the NDT Engineering Group at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, California, where his duties included NDT personnel training and NDT engineering functions.

Vásquez was previously employed as the Quality Manager/General Manager and NDT Level 3 of a nondestructive testing laboratory. Presently, he is contracted as an independent consultant by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) to conduct Nadcap audits and has been a Lead Critical Process (NDT) Auditor since 1993, for which he has conducted over 1200 Nadcap audits in at least 20 countries. Israel is a NAS 410 certified Level 3 in the PT, MT, and RT methods and an ASNT NDT Level III in PT, MT, and RT. He was inducted as an ASNT Fellow (class of 2009) and is the author of several papers published in Materials Evaluation and other international trade publications.

Vásquez is also a Boeing Company D1-4426 approved Level 3 consultant, a Honeywell Aerospace certified SCA / Level 3 for PT and MT, a Pratt & Whitney certified Level 3 for PT, and a Rolls-Royce certified Level 3 for PT and RT.

 
Amanda Young 

Amanda Young

Amanda L. Young is currently Vice President and ASNT NDT Level III for McNDT Pipeline Ltd., a provider of NDT services located in Channahon, Illinois. In this role, Young provides technical expertise to technicians and management while leading operations in Illinois, Georgia, and Connecticut. Additionally, Young is the welding program coordinator at Morton College in Cicero, Illinois, where she developed the welding curriculum and teaches multiple welding processes.

Young’s dedication to the field extends beyond her professional commitments. She has spoken at industry conferences and meetings covering a range of topics in NDT and welding. Young also volunteers for the American Welding Society (AWS), serving as Secretary of the Chicago Section and Deputy District Director for AWS District 13. She has been recognized by the AWS District 13 as Certified Welding Inspector of the Year in 2017, and she has been given multiple AWS District 13 Meritorious Awards for organizing annual golf outings which continue to raise scholarship funds for welding students in the Chicago metropolitan area. Young also regularly volunteers at the Bridge Teen Center in Tinley Park, Illinois, teaching gas metal arc welding to adolescents.

Young earned a Master of Business Administration and is currently pursuing a PhD in psychology with an emphasis in industrial and organizational behavior.
