Roger Engelbart's 47-year NDT career began as a radiographic technician in aerospace, culminating in his current role as an Associate Technical Fellow at Boeing Research & Technology, specializing in aircraft advanced materials. Holding over 50 US and international NDT patents, he facilitates technology transfer and research programs globally, engaging with ASNT users and other NDT societies worldwide.

An ASNT member for 32 years, Engelbart holds ASNT NDT Level III certifications in five methods and is honored as an ASNT Fellow. He's been extensively involved in ASNT leadership, serving on the Board of Directors, chairing committees, revitalizing the St. Louis Section, and leading various councils and committees. He has provided leadership for the Technical & Education Council (T&E), Engineering Council, Aerospace Committee, and Governance Committee, in addition to terms on Audit, Business and Finance, International Ad Hoc, Nonfinancial Recognition, and Operations Committees. He is a member of the British Institute for Nondestructive Testing (BINDT) and the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) Committees E07 (NDT) and F42 (Additive Manufacturing).

Engelbart's commitment to open dialogue and creative outreach reflects ASNT's strengths. He believes in nurturing talent for national engagement and sustaining international collaboration. Through mentoring programs, he advocates for educating youth about NDT and supporting their professional development.
