ISQ Prep Courses
ASNT is now offering prep courses for ISQ UT Thickness and ISQ UT Shear Wave.
About the ISQ UTT Prep Course:
This prep course prepares each candidate to perform ultrasonic testing (UT) on a number of specimens and product forms per the thickness and corrosion scanning ISQ exam. The specimens and areas of interest contain actual or artificially induced discontinuities representing those discontinuities found in the product type and industry sector for which qualification is sought. Candidates will learn to locate, interpret, and evaluate discontinuities, and properly document test results on samples that simulates the actual testing environment.
Evident Transducer Rentals for Course Participants: For ISQ UTT training courses only, participants who register for one of our UTT courses, included with registration is the option to borrow one of ASNT's owned Evident D798-SM transducers. Participants can borrow the transducer on a day-to-day basis and may borrow the unit when sitting for the exam onsite the week of the scheduled class. Transducer rentals are available to registered and paid class attendees.
About the ISQ UT Shear Wave Course:
This prep course prepares each candidate to perform ultrasonic testing (UT) on a number of specimens and product forms per the shear wave pressure equipment weld ISQ exam. The specimens and areas of interest contain actual or artificially induced discontinuities representing those discontinuities found in the product type and industry sector for which qualification is sought. Candidates will learn to detect, position, characterize, and size discontinuities, and properly document test results. Candidates will learn to create scaled weld defect plot drawings for prescribed sound paths, refracted angles, & thicknesses.
