Research Council
Primary activities of the Research Council include developing the technical program for the ASNT Research Symposium and providing input and oversight for ASNT research publications and journals. Any active Research committee member is a voting member of the Research Council.
The Emerging Technologies & Technology Transfer Committee encourages the transfer of new technology to applications in industry through lecture tours, meetings, reviews in ME, special sessions during ASNT meetings, and other activities.
The Membership & Outreach Committee performs routine tasks of monitoring the membership of the Council and guiding and announcing the requirements to be or maintain membership in the Council.
The Mentoring Committee provides mentoring opportunities to research students who attend the Research Symposium. The Committee helps research students to maximize their experience in attending the Symposium, increase their exposure to the NDE community, and to familiarize them with and engage them in various ASNT activities.
The Program Committee oversees the planning and implementation of ASNT Research Symposium. Committee members are responsible for organizing conference sessions and recruiting speakers.
The Publication’s Committee coordinates with ASNT ISC the preparation and publication of research meeting proceedings or transactions, the journal Research in Nondestructive Evaluation, monographs, books, and other documents treating research activities in NDE.
The Research in Nondestructive Evaluation (RNDE) Committee supervises publication of the journal.
The Special Meetings Committee coordinates and aids in planning meetings that have the purpose of presenting and discussing NDE research.
