Danny Keck

About

Danny Keck has more than 52 years of experience in nondestructive testing (NDT) and inspection in the nuclear and petrochemical industries and is currently an independent NDT/inspection Consultant. His career in NDT began in 1971 as a radiographer assistant on pipeline and nuclear power plant construction sites. In 1976, Danny relocated to Alaska and worked on the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline and as a plant inspector for BP in Prudhoe Bay before taking the position of NDT Level III for Alyeska Pipeline.

In 1991, Danny relocated to Saudi Arabia where he spent 12 years with Saudi Aramco as an NDT engineer developing new inspection and NDT technologies for use in refineries, pipelines, and operating plants. In 2004, Danny returned to Alaska for BP until 2009 when he transferred to BP corporate headquarters in Houston, TX, as the Global NDT and Inspection Subject Matter Expert. Danny has been involved in ASNT since 1978, has previously served two terms on the Board of Directors, is a Past President, past Chairperson of the Board, and is currently the Immediate Past Chair of the Board. 

Personal Statement

Over the past two years, my experience on the ASNT Board of Directors has been truly transformative, building on my 46-year career in nondestructive testing. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of focusing on advancing inspection technologies and leading the development of innovative programs that leave a lasting impact on the industry. The last two years have deepened my commitment to shaping the future of NDT and contributing to its growth. 

As a current director on the ASNT Board, I’m proud of our progress in supporting industry needs and fostering collaboration. As a certified ASNT NDT Level III in multiple inspection methods, I've seen firsthand how technology has revolutionized NDT. Through my work with ASTM E7, NADCAP, AIA, and AWS, I've witnessed the critical role of standards and industry-wide cooperation in driving innovation. 

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue contributing to ASNT’s mission and advancing the future of NDT through emerging technologies and professional development.
