Dustin Whitehead is a strategic leader in the nondestructive testing (NDT) industry, serving as President of Commercial Strategy for Aegeus Group. His career began in the Naval Reactor Group of the US Navy, where he developed a strong technical foundation before entering the advanced NDT market. With over 25 years in the industry, Dustin has gained extensive international experience, leading advanced training programs and working across global markets in inspection services, manufacturing, and software development.

His expertise spans technical and commercial strategy, making him a strong advocate for innovation, industry collaboration, and workforce development. Dustin holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and is pursuing a master’s in organizational leadership and executive leadership certification from Wharton, ensuring a business-driven approach to industry growth and sustainability.

Personal Statement

I am seeking a position on the ASNT Board of Directors to contribute my experience and leadership toward advancing the future of nondestructive testing. My journey in NDT began at the ground level—pulling tubes in reactors during shutdowns—before progressing through advanced training, global fieldwork, and operations leadership. Over the past 25 years, I have performed inspections in some of the hottest environments globally as well as in the Arctic, gaining firsthand knowledge of our industry’s diverse conditions and challenges. From inspecting test facilities in the middle of the desert in Africa to developing the systems and software driving the NDE 4.0 movement, my career has evolved through every stage of the industry.

With an intense technical training and operational leadership foundation, I am committed to strengthening ASNT’s role in workforce development, fostering innovation, and leading the adoption of emerging technologies. By leveraging my expertise, I aim to help ASNT shape the future of NDT, ensuring our industry remains at the forefront of safety, reliability, and digital transformation.
