Larry Culbertson

About

Larry Culbertson has spent 46 years in nondestructive testing, holding roles as technician, engineer, and C-level positions at companies like Northrop Grumman, Conam Inspection, and Stork Materials Testing & Inspection. In 2011, he founded QNDT Services, offering Level 3 consulting worldwide. The company expanded in 2015 with the acquisition of NDT Solutions, which designs inspection systems, and again in 2021, acquiring ECNDT to provide a full range of eddy current products.

Larry has created innovative inspection programs for aerospace and other industries. In 2024, he was honored with the ASNT Fellow award for his outstanding contributions and dedication to nondestructive testing. A certified ASNT NDT Level III in multiple inspection methods, Larry also has held certifications with the Navy Nuclear Program and the American Welding Society. He is actively involved with ASTM E7, NADCAP, and ASNT, and has authored 15 technical papers. In his current role as Director of NDTS, Larry oversees client education, program development, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

Personal Statement

Over the past two years, my experience on the ASNT Board of Directors has been truly transformative, building on my 46-year career in nondestructive testing. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of focusing on advancing inspection technologies and leading the development of innovative programs that leave a lasting impact on the industry. The last two years have deepened my commitment to shaping the future of NDT and contributing to its growth.

As a current director on the ASNT Board, I’m proud of our progress in supporting industry needs and fostering collaboration. As a certified ASNT NDT Level III in multiple inspection methods, I've seen firsthand how technology has revolutionized NDT. Through my work with ASTM E7, NADCAP, AIA, and AWS, I've witnessed the critical role of standards and industry-wide cooperation in driving innovation.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue contributing to ASNT’s mission and advancing the future of NDT through emerging technologies and professional development.
